To start off, indoor gates can be used as baby gates, pet gates, or both. You may love your pets very much but there has to be a time that they need to be secluded from your babies for additional safety, and that is when they become a safety gate. These gates can't only act as safety gates but they can also function as additional house decors. There are actually gates that are designed to match an interior design of a house.

Indoor gates can also be classified according to their forms and their specific uses. There are the basic walkthrough indoor gates that allow you to just swing through the gate and when you walk pass it, the gate locks itself for more security. These types of gates usually are installed using hardware material. They are often screwed directly to a wall, which makes it more secure. This is also a good choice for placing at the top of the stares as they are more stable.

There are pressure mounted gates that need to be installed in between two walls or in between one wall and a stair post. These types aren't that good to be placed on top of the stair because they tend to slip off when they are exerted with much force. These gates can be wide, tall or in regular width and height.

Extra wide gates are obviously best for areas that are wide like hallways or wide doorways. There are also gates that are extra tall for extra large pets, and those mini gates for little pups.
